My flat has not been cabled (and there are no plans to do so) so Virgin is out.

Have a look at http://www.comparebroadband.co.uk/ . You can put your postcode in and get a list of providers, speeds and contracts. I’m with Be and they’re great!

Cheap is not always the best.
I’m with ‘Waitrose’ £18.99 month, for Broadband only.
Always connected, no drop outs, always comes out top in tests and reports.
Also try ‘Zen’ they also come out good in reports.

Virgin are crap anyway.
Not sure if it is broadband only but heard T Mobile and O2 are good.
Avoid 3 and Orange, been told they supply a bad service.
Talk Talk are supplying phone and broadband so check first if they have a broadband only package. Most people say they are crap, but i thought they were the best so far, no exaggeration they were 4X faster than virgin.
I only left them because they couldn’t supply at my new address

I hate to say it, but over the last 5-7 years services from broadband suppliers have gone way way down the hill. Cheap could mean slow and bad customer service

Carphone warehouse have loads of offers on, it may be best to ring them and they can help you.

If your contract with BT is nearly up, phone them and say you’re "THINKING" of renewing your contract with them ,but first you want to know what sort of DISCOUNT they can offer….i got a reduction of £5 a month for same deal
